Smith added that Laga will also visit Vanderbilt on June 12, and Wisconsin, Arkansas, Notre Dame and Missouri are also “in the mix” for his recruitment.

Laga has a recruiting rating of 89 in 247Sports’ composite system and ranks as the No. 43 offensive tackle in the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 17 player from Illinois and No. 435 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State extended Laga an offer in late January, and is one of 16 programs to offer him, according to 247Sports. He also holds notable offers from Vanderbilt, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Northwestern, UCLA, Wisconsin, Oregon State and Washington State.
