Michigan State football appears to be getting back to its Ohio recruiting roots with its 2027 class.
The Spartans landed a commitment from three-star pass rusher Lawrence Kanneh on Saturday, June 6, during his official visit, according to On3.
Kanneh, who plays for Whitehall Yearling High School just outside Columbus, Ohio, is the No. 71 edge rusher in his class and the No. 31 ranked player in Ohio, according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
He is the fourth player from Ohio committed to MSU in the 2027 class.
He also reportedly had offers from Boise State, East Carolina and Virginia but ultimately decided to commit to MSU and new coach Pat Fitzgerald.
At 6 feet 2 and 220 pounds, Kanneh has a solid frame that he should be able to grow into during his time in East Lansing.
Kanneh is the 11th commit to MSU’s 2027 class that is No. 44 in the nation, per 247, and joins Jack Schuler, another Columbus-area commit, as the second edge in the class.
