Michigan football is set to head to Los Angeles to face USC for a night game (at least on the Wolverines’ body clock) this Saturday, but that marks the first of two former Pac-12 teams in the Big Ten that the maize and blue will face. Washington is set to come to Ann Arbor in Week 8 in hopes of making it two straight wins over Michigan after losing in the 2023 national championship game.
But the big question, at least at this juncture, is this: when will the game be? Will it be an early kick or a raucous night atmosphere for the maize and blue?
The answer came on Monday as it was revealed that Michigan vs. Washington will be a noon EDT kick and will be broadcast on Fox.
At least at this stage, both teams have just one loss, each to a top team. The Wolverines lost to Oklahoma in Week 2 in Norman, while the Huskies saw their multi-year home streak come to an end after Ohio State came to Seattle. Both teams had some trouble in Week 6, though Michigan controlled its game against Wisconsin. Washington, meanwhile, needed a come-from-behind victory to upend a resurgent Maryland team.
Michigan lost the last matchup to Washington, which was last year in Seattle. But now, with a settled quarterback room and improving defense, the Wolverines have to feel good about where they’re at, even though UW quarterback Demond Williams Jr. could pose some problems due to his mobility.
The teams last played in Ann Arbor back in 2021, with the Wolverines grinding the Huskies down over the course of the game with a stellar rushing performance by Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins.
