Michigan State football has extended an offer to a local in-state prospect that is picking up some buzz on the recruiting trail.
Samson Gash of Novi, Mich. announced on Thursday morning that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. Gash posted on his social media X account to share the offer from Michigan State.
Gash is a three-star athlete in the 2026 class. He plays for Michigan high school powerhouse Detroit Catholic Central and holds a recruiting rating of 87 on 247Sports.
Gash ranks as the No. 60 athlete in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 16 player from Michigan in the class.
Michigan State is one of more than 10 schools to extend an offer to Gash, according to 247Sports. Along with his offer from Michigan State, Gash has received offers from Illinois, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Buffalo, Miami (OH), Kent State, Marshall, Ohio, Temple and Toledo.
Gash is scheduled to take an official visit to Cincinnati next month. I would anticipate Michigan State is also working to get an official visit lined up with this newly offered in-state target.
