Michigan football makes cut for top safety Tavares Harrington

Michigan football is working hard to lure several top prospects out of Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel, with four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell having been predicted by several analysts that he’ll end up a Wolverine. But he’s not the only one that the maize and blue are targeting.

Among the many visitors to Ann Arbor for the annual spring game last month, even from Mount Carmel, was four-star safety Tavares Harrington, rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 124 player in the country, regardless of position. On Saturday, he revealed his top five and final schools, and Michigan made the cut. However, so did presumed favorite Notre Dame, along with Auburn, Ole Miss, and Alabama.

Harrington does have a prediction that he’ll end up with the Irish by Rival’s VP of recruiting, Steve Wiltfong; however, that prediction came way back in September 2025. As noted, Harrington visited Ann Arbor for the spring game, and according to The Wolverine’s Ethan McDowell, he’ll return to campus for the biggest recruiting weekend of the year, ‘Victor’s Weekend’ in June.
