Michigan football favored by more than two touchdowns over Wisconsin in Week 6 matchup

After being idle for a week, Michigan football is set to take to the gridiron again, returning home to the friendly confines of The Big House for the first time in three weeks. And with that, the Wolverines will face the Wisconsin Badgers for the first time since going to Madison in 2021. The last time that the maize and blue hosted the Badgers was in 2020, in a primetime drubbing that was the worst of all of the losses in the COVID-shortened season.

However, this year, it stands to look a bit different than Wisconsin’s last visit to Ann Arbor.

With Week 6 on the horizon, BetMGM has released its opening betting odds for Wisconsin at Michigan. And as it turns out, the Wolverines are pretty heavy favorites against their Big Ten foe. At the moment, Michigan is a 16.5-point favorite, while the over-under is set at just 41.5 points.

It’s a pretty big line, but Wisconsin has struggled greatly. Though the Badgers still have a stodgy defense, allowing just 18.8 points per game (37th), with the nation’s No. 1 rushing defense, allowing just 50 yards per game. Alabama, which hasn’t exactly run the football effectively, had the most successful attack with just 72 yards (3.27 yards per carry). But Wisconsin has the 89th-ranked passing defense, so it could be a game where Bryce Underwood and the aerial attack are much more proficient, as it was in the first and third games of the season. Offensively, UW has the 117th offense in the country, which is the second-worst in the Big Ten ahead of only UCLA.
