Michigan secured its first signature victory of the season on Saturday, defeating Nebraska, 30-27, to open its Big Ten slate. The Wolverines terrorized Cornhusker quarterback Dylan Raiola to the tune of seven sacks, while showcasing their electrifying offensive rushing attack in front of a hostile crowd in Lincoln.
As a result, Michigan (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) has moved up two spots to No. 18 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, while Nebraska still received a couple of votes in the updated rankings.
As things stand heading into Week 5, the Wolverines have just two ranked opponents left on their schedule — No. 1 Ohio State and No. 22 USC, which entered the coaches poll for the first time this week after a 45-31 win over Michigan State. Meanwhile, Oklahoma, which handed the Maize and Blue a 24-13 loss in Week 2, has climbed to No. 10 in the latest update.
