COLDWATER, MI — Justin Posante, 44, was sentenced to 18 months to 5 years for malicious destruction of two vehicles at Cole Ford.
On Monday, March 16, Circuit Judge David Buter delivered the sentence following Posante’s guilty plea and agreed to negotiated sentence.
Coldwater Police tracked down Posante after reviewing security video from four businesses along two blocks of East Chicago Street, recorded just after midnight on Sept. 16, 2025.
The Department of Corrections paroled Posante in November 2024 from an 18-month to 10-year January 2023 sentence for meth possession.
Posante must serve an additional year on that sentence before his new consecutive sentence begins. He will get no credit for the 166 days served since his arrest.
Assistant prosecutor Lauren Peters pointed out that Posante has seven prior felonies and 28 misdemeanor convictions.
