LANSING — Police were investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Thursday, April 9 at a south-side intersection.
A 62-year-old man was struck by a vehicle heading north on South Cedar Street, near Jolly Road, about 8:46 p.m., Lansing police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle who hit the pedestrian, a 32-year-old man, was not injured, police said.
“At this time, we do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash but an investigation is ongoing,” Assistant Lansing Police Chief Eric Pratl said in an email.
The name of the man who died was not released.
