Man, 40, injured in Lansing shooting on Friday, June 19

LANSING — Police were investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital on Friday, June 19.

Officers responded to the 3400 block of West Mt. Hope Avenue about 12:15 p.m. for reports of shots being fired and learned a short time later that a 40-year-old man had showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip, Lansing police said in a news release.

The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, they said.

A “person of interest” was in police custody.

No other details about the incident were released.
