Lions try to prove a point in schedule release video: Watch

The Detroit Lions have been all business since missing the playoffs in 2025.

And that was further reflected in the schedule release video the team posted on social media on Thursday night.

The NFL’s annual schedule release day has become an annual event in which team video and social media departments run an all-out creative blitz, filled with gags, shots at upcoming opponents, and the like.

The Lions’ 2024 schedule release featured comedians Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson, and in 2025, they filmed a drone video in the streets of Detroit to show off all of the team’s upcoming matchups.

But in 2026, they were clearly trying to prove a point. This year’s 33-second schedule-release video shows Lions coach Dan Campbell printing the schedule and pinning it to a corkboard on the wall as sound bites from pundits play in the background.

Will that make a difference in how the team plays on Sundays this fall? Well, no. But it certainly proves that the Lions were serious about rethinking how they do everything around the building.
