Dan Campbell shared disappointing injury news on Monday morning.
Top free agent signing and starting center Cade Mays is set to miss significant time with a wrist injury. The Lions inked Mays three-year, $25 million contract. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound center played in 52 games with the Panthers and started 27, including 12 starts in 2025.
“Cade Mays had a wrist injury. He will be out for a significant period of time. He will be back for the season at some point, but it’ll be down the road,” Campbell said.
It’s a major loss for what the Lions hoped would be a rebuilt interior.
