EATON RAPIDS — Police will close streets near Eaton Rapids schools on Thursday, Aug. 13, while officers conduct active violence training.

The training is planned for Greyhound Drive in front of Greyhound Intermediate School, and a large number of police, fire and emergency medical services vehicles will be in the area.

Greyhound Drive will be closed in front of the athletic field, and Inverness Street will be closed at Raeburn Road from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m., officials said.

“ERPS Administrative Staff and the Eaton Rapids Early Learning Center will have access to the Daycare and Administrative Offices until 9:00 am and again after 1:00 p.m.,” the release said. “In case of an emergency, staff on site will be available to coordinate access.”
