Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested last Wednesday in connection to a February robbery and kidnapping in Tampa.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, court filings confirm that Arnold has retained Denver-based attorney Harvey Steinberg to represent him in this case.
Steinberg has represented a number of NFL figures over the years, including Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper in connection with multiple charges arising from an alleged domestic-violence incident.
Other former Steinberg clients include John Elway, Elway’s son, Jack, Kellen Winslow II, Jerry Jeudy, John Bowlen (the son of former Broncos owner Pat Bowlen), Brandon Marshall, Elvis Dumervil and former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.
Arnold is charged with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. The eight felony charges carry with them a potential sentence of up to life in prison.
A pre-trial detention hearing will be held on Monday, June 29 to determine whether or not Arnold will remain in custody through trial.
