Michigan State baseball is back in the Big Ten Tournament and will begin their quest for a conference title on Tuesday.
The Spartans will play in the Big Ten Tournament opening game on Tuesday morning in Omaha, Neb. Michigan State was the last team to qualify for the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 12 seed and will play No. 5 seed Purdue on Tuesday morning. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET, with the game set to be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Michigan State open the season hot with a notable series victory over Louisville on the road. But that was in a lot of ways the top moment of the entire season for the Spartans. Michigan State finished the regular season with an overall record of 22-31 and conference mark of 11-19. Unless Michigan State goes on a magical run during the Big Ten Tournament, they’ll finish below .500 for the sixth time in the last eight seasons.
The Big Ten Tournament is set up to be double elimination for the teams seeded No. 5 through No. 12. So we will know when the Spartans play again next based on the results of Tuesday’s game against the Boilermakers.
