How cold did it get in Michigan overnight? Here's where it dropped to 19 degrees

Much of Michigan reported frost May 8-9 as temperatures dipped below freezing across a wide swath of the state, but the coldest spot was in northern Michigan.

The lowest recorded temperature, according to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, was 19 degrees in Roscommon.

“As you can see it got pretty chilly!,” the NWS said on Facebook. “Although frost was observed, very low dew points created such dry air that damages were mitigated. Hopefully everyone’s sensitive plants and orchards held up!”

Areas south and east of Saginaw Bay generally remained at or above freezing, NWS data shows.
