In addition to mayoral and council races, voters in Livingston County decided on a number of proposals Nov. 4.
Here’s everything you need to know, according to unofficial tallies:
Brighton approves street improvement tax
Voters in Brighton approved a proposal levying 2.5 mills for 10 years, 2026-2035, for street improvements, 61.3% to 38.7%.
The proposal is a partial restoration of the city’s original 20-mill tax, reduced to 15.1819 mills due to rollbacks under the Headlee Amendment. The 2.5-mill askrepresents a renewal of the 2.5-mill tax voters approved in 2019, which was reduced to 2.4053 mills.
The proposal is expected to generate roughly $1.65 million when first levied in July 2026.
Voters approve $350 million bond for South Lyon Community Schools
Voters for South Lyon Community Schools approved a $350 million bond for building upgrades, technology improvements, bus purchases and playground/athletic field improvements, 60.4% to 39.6%.
The estimated millage is 3.42 mills in 2026, the same as the prior year.
Voters approve $15 million bond for Stockbridge Community Schools
Voters for Stockbridge Community Schools approved a $15.1 million bond for building upgrades, technology improvements, bus purchases and athletic field improvements, 55% to 45%.
The estimated millage is 0.70 mills, the same as the prior year.
Voters approve Washtenaw CTE Program
Voters in the Washtenaw Intermediate School District approved funds to establish a Career and Technical Education Program, 54.4% to 45.6%. The ISD will establish a levy of 1 mill over 10 years, 2026-2035, with an expectation of collecting about $25 million.
