Lent 2026 begins Feb. 18 with Ash Wednesday, and with it comes Friday fish dinners at local churches and non-profit organization halls. This year, though, you don’t have to wait until Lent to have a fried fish dinner. Two dinners are set for Feb. 6 and 13.
Several of the dinners run every Friday through April 3, Good Friday.
St. Joseph Church in Erie
St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2238 Manhattan St., will hold all-you-can-eat fried fish dinners from 4:30-7:30 p.m. every Friday during Lent, Feb. 20 through April 3.
Dine-in and carryout will be available.
Dine-in meals include all-you-can-eat perch and tilapia, popcorn shrimp, cheesy potatoes, fries, green beans, meatless spaghetti, coleslaw, applesauce, roll, dessert and beverage.
Meals are $19 for adults, $17 for seniors and $10 for children age 12 and younger.
Carryout meals include six pieces of fish for adult meals and three pieces for kids meals as well as cheesy potatoes, fries, popcorn shrimp, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce and roll. Carryout meals do not include spaghetti, dessert or beverages. The cost is $17 for adults and seniors and $10 for children age 12 and younger.

Holy Ghost Church in Monroe
Friday night fish fries will take place from 4-6:30 p.m. Fridays during Lent, Feb. 20 through March 27, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and School, 3563 Heiss Road. Diners are asked not to arrive before 4 p.m. because of school dismissal.
Dine-in and take-out meals will be available. Meals include hand-breaded and fried perch, seasoned and baked cod, scalloped or baked potato, green beans, coleslaw, bread and a piece of homemade pie. Dine-in meals are all-you-can-eat. The cost is $20 for adults and $18 for seniors (age 65 and older) and veterans.
Also available is a $5 kids meal, which includes a hot dog or macaroni and cheese, chips, green beans and dessert. Pie is not included in kids meals.
Cash, check and credit cards will be accepted.
Divine Grace Church in Carleton
Fish FryDays resume Feb. 20 at Divine Grace Church’s St. Patrick School gym, 2970 W. Labo Road. Other dates are Feb. 27 and March 6, 13, 20 and 27. Times are 4-6:30 p.m.
Dine-in and take-out will be available. On the menu are fried or baked cod, fried pike perch, jumbo shrimp, fries, potatoes, green beans, macaroni and cheese, nachos, coleslaw, roll and ice cream and other homemade dessert choice.
Meals are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $10 for children age 12 and younger. Credit and debit cards will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit Divine Grace Parish, St. Patrick School and the CYO sports program. Dinners are sponsored by the Divine Grace Men’s Club.
VFW Hall in Rockwood
Fish fry dinners will take place from 4-7 p.m. (or until sold out) Feb. 27 and March 6, 13, 20 and 27 at Rockwood Post 4230, Veterans of Foreign Wars, hall, 3527 W. Jefferson.
The VFW Auxiliary will hold a bake sale during dinners on Feb. 27 and March 27.
Meals are $15 and include lightly breaded fried fish, fries, coleslaw, dinner rolls, tartar sauce and lemon. The coleslaw and tartar sauce are made with the post’s own recipes, according to the event flyer. Carryouts are available for an additional charge.

Dundee Veterans Club
All-you-can-eat fish dinners are set for March 6 and April 3 at Dundee Veterans Club, 418 Dunham St. Times are 5-7:30 p.m. or until sold-out.
Meals also include fries, coleslaw and a roll. The cost is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors age 60 and older and $10 for children age 10. A hot dog and fries meal also is available.

The club holds fish dinners the first Friday of each month, from October through April.
St. John Church in Dundee
St. John Lutheran Church, 460 Riley St., will hold a drive-thru fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 20-March 27. Carryout also will be available.
Meals include fish, fries, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, roll and dessert.
Meals are $14 for adults and $8 for children age 10 and under.

St. Gabriel Church in Ida
St. Gabriel/St. Joseph Church, 8295 Van Aiken St., will hold Lenten fish dinners from 4-7 p.m. every Friday in Lent, Feb. 20-March 27. No fish fry will be held on Good Friday.
Drive-thru and indoor dining will be offered. Meals include fish, shrimp, scalloped potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, roll, dessert and beverages. A grilled cheese and chips meal also is available.
Prices for indoor dining are $25 for all-you-can-eat fish and shrimp; $15 for a small meal; and $8 for a grilled cheese meal.
Drive-thru prices are $30 for a bucket of all fish or all shrimp; $20 for a large meal; $15 for a small meal; and $8 for a grilled cheese meal.
Knights of Columbus Hall in Monroe
Monroe Council 1266, Knights of Columbus will hold Fish & Shrimp Fry-Days every Friday during Lent, starting Feb. 20, at its hall, 202 W. Front St.
Times are 4:30-6:30 p.m. Dine-in and carryout are available.
Meals include fried fish and shrimp, fries, coleslaw, dinner roll and dessert. Price to be announced.
St. Charles Church in Newport
St. Charles Catholic Church, 8033 N. Dixie Highway, will hold fish fries from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 and 27 and March 6 and 20.
The menu features haddock, pike perch, shrimp, frog legs, pasta, green beans, coleslaw, fries, cornbread, dinner roll and homemade dessert.
Dine-in and carryout are available.
Plated meals are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $9 for children age 12 and younger.
Elks Lodge in Flat Rock
Drive-thru Lenten shrimp and cod dinners will be offered from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 6 and 20, March 6 and 20 and April 3 at Flat Rock Elks Lodge 1731 at Vreeland and Telegraph roads.
Drive-thru and carryout meals will be offered.
Meals include hand-battered shrimp or cod, house-made coleslaw, fries, hush puppies, Delray Bakery rolls and condiments.
Cash only will be accepted; exact change is preferred.
The Flat Rock Elks has offered the meal since 2008.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Temperance
Drive-thru fish fries will continue this Lent at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 8330 Lewis Ave. Meals will be available from 4:30-7 p.m. every Friday, Feb. 20-March 27.
Meals are $12 each and include fried perch, cheesy potatoes, roll with butter and coleslaw. Proceeds are donated to charity.
Attendees should enter the church parking lot from Donna Drive. Vehicles will be directed to pay/pickup stations outside the gym.
The meals are hosted by the church’s Knights of Columbus council.
American Legion Hall in Temperance
All-you-can-eat fish fries will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. Fridays during Lent, Feb. 20-April 3, at American Legion Post 192, 620 W. Temperance Road. Carryout will be available.
Meals include cod, fries, coleslaw, roll and dessert. The cost is $17 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and younger.

Nearby in Blissfield
The Sons of the American Legion from Blissfield Post 325, American Legion will host all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5 p.m. until sold out Feb. 13 and 27 and March 13 and 27 at the post home, 451 High St. in Blissfield.
Meals include fried and baked pollock, chicken tenders, fries, baked potato, green beans, coleslaw, dinner roll, macaroni and cheese and water.
Meals are $12 for adults, $8 for children ages 6-12 and free for children under age 6. There is an additional charge for credit card payments.
