The 14 Monroe County Region teams begin preparations for the 2025 season with two-a-day practices Monday.
Here are the dates to remember for each of the teams.
AIRPORT
2024 record: 4-5.
Coach: Derek Anderson, second year (4-5).
First practice: 12:01 a.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Wyandotte Roosevelt.
First game: Aug. 28 at Tecumseh.
Circle on the schedule: Riverview at home Sept. 12.
Playoff history: Qualified 18th times. Playoff record is 9-18.
BEDFORD
2024 record: 5-5.
Coach: John Phillips, sixth year (22-15).
First practice: 4-8:30 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Gibraltar Carlson.
First game: Aug. 28 at Sterling Heights Stevenson.
Circle on the schedule: Sept. 19 at Monroe.
Playoff history: Qualified last year for the 14th time in school history with a record of 9-14.
DUNDEE
2024 record: 2-7.
Coach: Jason Carpenter, first year.
First practice: 5-10 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard.
First game: Aug. 28 at Adrian.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 10 at home against Ida.
Playoff history: Has an overall 3-10 record in 10 trips to playoffs with the most recent appearance coming in 2022.
ERIE MASON
2024 record: 1-8.
Coach: Steve Bowers, fifth year (15-23).
First practice: 4-8:30 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Livonia Clarenceville.
First game: Aug. 29 vs. Flint New Standard at Atwood Stadium.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 25 at home against Summerfield.
Playoff history: Compiled a 10-9 record in 10 appearances. Won a state title in 1987.
FLAT ROCK
2024 record: 10-3 (Won Regional title)
Coach: Buck Reaume, 11th year (50-50).
First practice: 3-8 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Southgate Anderson.
First game: Aug. 28 at Gladwin, 7 p.m.
Playoff history: Made the playoffs for the seventh time last season, with a record of 10-6. Eight of those wins have come in the past three seasons. Won a state title in 1976 and reached the semifinals last two years.
GIBRALTAR CARLSON
2024 record: 10-2 (won District title)
Coach: Jason Gendron, fourth year (29-6)
First practice: 2-7 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at home against Riverview and Bedford.
First game: Aug. 28 home against Wyandotte Roosevelt.
Circle on the schedule: Sept. 12 at defending state champion Pontiac Notre Dame.
Playoff history: Qualified in each of the past eight seasons and 17 times overall. Playoff record is 8-17.
IDA
2024 record: 9-2.
Coach: Jeff Potter, ninth year (50-31).
First practice: 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at home against SMCC, Dearborn Edsel Ford, Ann Arbor Pioneer.
First game: Aug. 28 at Grosse Ile.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 10 at Dundee.
Playoff history: Qualified last year for the 15th time. Playoff record is 12-15.
JEFFERSON
2024 record: 1-8.
Coach: Rob Beaudrie, third year (3-15).
First practice: 4-9 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Auburn Hills Avondale.
First game: Aug. 28 at Hanover Horton.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 17 home against SMCC.
Playoff history: Qualified 11 times and won a state championship in 1994. Playoff record 10-10.
MILAN
2024 record: 3-6.
Coach: Jesse Hoskins, 15th year (94-52).
First practice: 9-2:50 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 22 at Dexter.
First game: Aug. 29 at Redford Westfield.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 3 home against SMCC.
Playoff history: Qualified 22 times with a playoff record of 20-22.
MONROE
2024 record: 2-7.
Coach: Kyle Reed, third year (5-13).
First practice: 3-9 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Wyandotte Roosevelt.
First game: Aug. 28 at home against Plymouth.
Circle on the schedule: Sept. 19 home against Bedford.
Playoff history: Qualified 18 times, but only twice in the past nine years. Playoff record is 6-18.
NEW BOSTON HURON
2024 record: 4-5.
Coach: Tom Hoover, fourth year (15-13).
First practice: 3-8 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 22 at Ypsilanti Lincoln.
First game: Aug. 28 at Lake Fenton.
Playoff history: Qualified seven times with a playoff record of 5-7. Reached state semifinals in 2014.
SMCC
2024 record: 13-1 (finished second in state)
Coach: Adam Kipf, 11th year (80-33).
First practice: 3-8:30 p.m. Monday at Huber Drive practice field.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Ida.
First game: Aug. 28 vs. Clinton at Adrian College.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 10 home against Riverview.
Playoff history: Made the playoffs last year for the 29th time, most in Monroe County Region history, and reached state finals. Won MHSAA state titles in 1991, 2014 and 2019. The Falcons are 61-26 all-time in playoff games.
SUMMERFIELD
2024 record: 8-2.
Coach: Dylan Szegedi, third year (13-6).
First practice: 4-8:30 p.m. Monday.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Jonesville.
First game: Aug. 28 vs. Flint Beecher at Atwood Stadium.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 17 at Summerfield.
Playoff history: Has qualified 11 times, including last season. Won three games in 2019. Playoff record is 9-11.
WHITEFORD
2024 record: 5-5.
Coach: Todd Thieken, fourth year (32-6).
First practice: Monday 4:30-9 p.m.
Scrimmage: Aug. 21 at Clinton.
First game: Aug. 28 at Blissfield.
Circle on the schedule: Oct. 17 at Summerfield.
Playoff history: The Bobcats are 35-23 all-time in the postseason including state titles in 2017 and 2022. Lost in the finals in 2016 and 2024.
