We’re back with one last collection of exceptional local students for 2025-26.
Each week, high school principals and staffers in Livingston County share their nominees for Student of the Week with The Daily. We share those honorees online Fridays and in print Sundays.
This week’s students were nominated for academic achievements, personal growth, setting an example and a commitment to service.
Jillian Weaver, Brighton High School
Jillian, a senior, is a student whose impact on Brighton High School extends far beyond her accomplishments. She’s the kind of young woman who leads with authenticity, strength and a genuine desire to help others.
Through her involvement in athletics, service opportunities, Student Council, Leadership and National Honor Society, Jillian has consistently demonstrated a commitment to making Brighton High School a better place for everyone around her. She’s intelligent, hardworking and encouraging, but what stands out most is the way she invests in people and relationships.
Jillian has grown tremendously as a leader over the past several years, and it’s been rewarding to watch her develop the confidence and character that make her such a positive influence on our school community.
Her desire to pursue a career in nursing is a natural reflection of her caring heart and passion for helping others. Whether she’s volunteering through her church, babysitting, supporting her classmates or serving as a leader within our school, Jillian approaches every opportunity with compassion and purpose.
We are incredibly proud of the young woman she’s become and grateful for the example she sets. Her resilience, kindness and leadership have left a meaningful mark on Brighton High School.
Kaydence Bryant, Kensington Woods Schools
Kaydence, a sophomore, is a member of the Early College Program and has shown great academic growth this year. She’s a hard worker who’s willing to put in extra time to fully understand the material, and that dedication has helped her continue to grow and succeed. Kaydence is also known for being thoughtful and polite, bringing a steady and respectful presence to her classes each day.
Kaydence is a dedicated ice skater and a talented artist. Her creativity shows in the work she produces, and her teachers appreciate both her effort and the way she carries herself. According to art teacher Chris Boudrie: “She is quite creative, respectful and kind. She is an inspiring student.”
