Michael Campbell was arraigned last Tuesday in the 37th District Court in Warren, court records said.

He is charged with two counts of delivering or manufacturing 50 grams to 449 grams of a controlled substance, six counts of delivering or manufacturing less than 50 grams of a controlled substance, and two counts of using a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.

A judge set Campbell’s bond at $400,000 and scheduled his next court hearing for June 30. The judge also ordered him to wear a GPS tether if he’s released on bond.

If convicted, Campbell faces up to 20 years in prison for each count of delivering or manufacturing 50 grams to 449 grams of a controlled substance, up to 20 years for each count of delivering or manufacturing less than 50 grams of a controlled substance, and two years for each count of using a firearm during a felony.

His attorney, Daniel Garon, was not immediately available for comment on Tuesday.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and Warren police detectives executed search warrants at about 5:30 a.m. on June 11 at residences in the 5600 block of John E. Hunter near McGraw Avenue and the 3600 block of Vernor Avenue in Detroit.

Police said they arrested Campbell during their search at one of the locations. They also seized about 420 grams of cocaine, $2,291 in cash, a rifle, four pistols, multiple magazines and ammunition, as well as digital scales and packaging materials consistent with narcotics distribution.

Campbell is the latest to be accused of selling illegal narcotics in Michigan.

In May, a Flint man convicted in federal court of cocaine possession and maintaining a drug house was sentenced to 235 months in prison.

In March, two Macomb County residents were charged in connection with an alleged narcotics operation.

In February, Detroit police seized more than $100,000 in suspected narcotics, guns, and cash while executing a search warrant on the city’s east side.
