The Detroit Lions prioritized Aidan Keanaaina as an undrafted free agent by giving him $267,500 guaranteed. The team is showing confidence that this defensive tackle can overcome his prior ACL to help along the defensive line.
Here is the Aidan Keanaaina medical report:
Medical concern level ranges from 0 (no concern) to 10 (extreme).
(Ages in parentheses are at start of 2026 season and are factored into the concern level. Injury info and ages based on available public information and are unverified – subject to update. Games played data courtesy of sports-reference.com.)
Aidan Keanaaina, DT (24) – Cal
Contract: 3-years, $3.12M ($267,500 guaranteed)
Medical Concern Level: 4/10
The ACL in 2022 is not a concern at the point unless there was associated cartilage damage. He showed perfect availability in his final two collegiate seasons which is very reassuring.
The fact that the Lions gave him a relatively high amount of guaranteed money as an UDFA signals that medical does not have much, if any, concern with the knee.
His older age bumps up his concern level, but teams can’t be too choosy in the UDFA pool.
In his 6-year career, he collected three sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. His listed size in college was a massive 6-foot-3 and 320 pounds, which means he could serve as an anchor in the middle of the Lions’ defensive line.
