Given the Lions injuries last year at the CB position (like with Terrion Arnold’s shoulder), they may be looking for an injection of young, healthy players in the draft. Chris Johnson is a highly-rated prospect who also comes with a low medical concern level.
Here is the excerpt from my medical report on Chris Johnson:
(Ages in parentheses are at start of 2026 season and are factored into the concern level. Injury info and ages based on available public information are unverified and subject to update. Games played data courtesy of sports-reference.com.)
Chris Johnson, CB (21) – San Diego State
Projected round 2. #42 on Daniel Jeremiah big board March 5. Ran 4.40 at combine.
Concern level 1/10
Johnson’s end-of-season foot issue was a concern, but he showed up at the Senior Bowl and ran fast at the combine. Since he was allowed to work out at the combine, that implies he passed all the medical exam and imaging tests, which is very reassuring.
Johnson finished with 6 INT and 14 PBU in college.
