Michigan State football opened camp today, gearing up for their Friday night opener against Toledo, along with the 2026 season as a whole. With the opening of camp, a plethora of new information has become available, including jersey numbers.
On Thursday night, it was announced that Kenny Soares Jr. would get the honor of wearing the No. 1 jersey, being known as ‘The Spartan’. Another notable Spartan is switching his number into the single digits.
In his first stint in East Lansing, Charles Brantley was seen donning the No. 0 jersey, but in his return to East Lansing, it will be a different number. Brantley will be wearing No. 4 in his final year of college football and his return to Michigan State.
