Canton resident dies, child injured in single-vehicle crash

CANTON TWP. — A 44-year-old Canton resident died Wednesday, May 6 in a single-vehicle crash near Sheldon Road and Sheldon Center.

Canton Township police said officers arrived at the scene around 7:12 a.m. and found the driver dead. The man was driving a Ford F-150, police said.

A child who was a passenger and who was injured in the crash was transported for medical treatment and is in stable condition, police said. 

Police did not describe the circumstances of the crash.

The Canton Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Sheldon Road remains closed in both directions between Arlington Road and Sheldon Center while the investigation continues
