Canadian wildfire smoke is impacting Boat Week events in Port Huron.
Blue Water Festival posted on Facebook Thursday’s Elektrik Dream 80s Party is being moved inside McMorran, and Blue Water Street Fair posted the fair will be postponed until Friday.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office also posted an update Thursday: “Unfortunately, due to the hazardous air quality, we will not be at Operation Transformation’s Family Night this evening in downtown Port Huron. We apologize for the late notice and look forward to seeing everyone soon!”
Other closures include Port Huron city pools and offices.
“City offices and facilities will be closed today, Thursday, July 16, due to poor air quality. Blue Water Festival activities continue as scheduled due to a wind shift this afternoon,” the city of Port Huron posted on Facebook.
Operation Transformation’s OT’s Family Night returns from 5-9 p.m. today on the lawn northeast of the 10th Street Bridge.
Festivities continue through Saturday, July 18 before culminating with the start of the Port Huron-to-Mackinac Island Sailboat Race.
