2026 Winter Paralympics closing ceremony. How to watch Sunday

The 2026 Winter Paralympics closing ceremony will air live Sunday afternoon, March 15, honoring the 665 athletes who competed for their nations, marking the end of the Olympic season.

“The Paralympic closing ceremony will be a collective farewell: a moment of reflection and celebration in which athletes, spectators, and local communities will share the final moments of an unforgettable journey,” according to the Olympics official website.

During the ceremony, two Paralympic cauldrons — in Milano and Cortina, located in northern Italy — will be extinguished. In addition, the Paralympic flag will be lowered, and the baton will be passed to France, the host for the 2030 Olympic season. There also will be live musical performances.

Teams for para alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and ice hockey are set to complete competition on March 15, according to the Paralympic schedule, which is updated online along with the overall medal count.

At 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, the 2026 Winter Paralympics closing ceremony will be broadcast live on TV and streaming platforms.

This year marked the 50th anniversary of the first Paralympics Winter Games, which took place in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, in 1976.

Sports for those with physical disabilities were originally implemented in rehabilitation programs, then the sports grew competitive.
