Independence Day is approaching and cities across metro Detroit are getting ready for fireworks displays to celebrate.
Here is a list of 10 fireworks shows in the Metro Detroit area:
Rochester’s Festival of the Hills
When: Activities at 6 p.m.; fireworks at 10:05 p.m.; Wednesday, June 25
Where: Borden Park, 1400 E. Hamlin Rd., Rochester Hills
Parking: Available on Hamlin Road starting at 4 p.m.
Admission: Free
What to expect: Expect inflatables, food trucks, local bands, and a massive fireworks finale. Rain date: July 9.
What to know: No pets; Gas grills are allowed, but no charcoal grills; no fire, sparklers, fireworks; no alcoholic beverages; no overnight parking; no motor home parking.
Huron-Clinton Metroparks fireworks in Stony Creek
When: Fireworks at 10:05 p.m. on Friday, June 27
Where: Stony Creek Metroparks, 4300 Main Park Rd., Shelby Township
Parking: Metroparks vehicle permit is required to enter any Metroparks; Annual passes are $40 and a day pass is $10
Admission: $10
What to expect: Fireworks and picnics under the stars.
What to know: Only beer and wine may be consumed in picnic areas and/or areas designated in the Metroparks. Dogs and pets are permitted only when kept on a leash under 6 feet in length. Weapons are prohibited. Learn more at Metroparks.com.
Milford Fireworks/Kensington Metropark Fireworks 2025
When: 10-10:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 28
Where: Kensington Metropark 4570 Huron River Parkway, Milford
Parking: Admission is free, a Metropark vehicle pass is required for entry
Admission: Free
What to expect: Fireworks at Kensington MetroPark bring fun and excitement.
What to know: Only beer and wine may be consumed in picnic areas and/or areas designated in the Metroparks. Dogs and pets are permitted only when kept on a leash under 6 feet in length. Weapons are prohibited. Learn more at Metroparks.com.
Willow Metropark Fireworks
When: Activities begin at 6 p.m.; Sunday, June 29
Where: Willow Metropark 23200 S. Huron Rd., New Boston
Parking: Metroparks vehicle permits are required for entry. Admission: $10 for a day pass
What to expect: Enjoy park trails, playground, live music and more.
What to know: Only beer and wine may be consumed in picnic areas and/or areas designated in the Metroparks. Dogs and pets are permitted only when kept on a leash under 6 feet in length. Weapons are prohibited. Learn more at Metroparks.com.
Lake Erie Metropark Fireworks
When: Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.; Thursday, July 3
Where: Lake Erie Metropark 32481 W Jefferson, Brownstown
Parking: Metroparks vehicle permits are required for entry.
Admission: $10 for a day pass
What to expect: Live entertainment from Rick Lieder Trio before fireworks.
What to know: Only beer and wine may be consumed in picnic areas and/or areas designated in the Metroparks. Dogs and pets are permitted only when kept on a leash under 6 feet in length. Weapons are prohibited. Learn more at Metroparks.com.
Clarkston
When: Activities begin at 11 a.m.; fireworks at 10 p.m.; Saturday, June 28
Where: Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Rd., Clarkston
Parking: Limited parking available at Clintonwood park; $5 per car until 2 pm, $10 per car after 2 pm. Lots at Clarkston High School open at 4 p.m., $5 parking; free shuttles from Clarkston High School to Clintonwood park (shuttles do not run during fireworks and will resume after).
Admission: Free
What to expect: The annual Clarkston Independence Fest is coming back on Saturday, June 28. Join local tradition, it’s fun for the entire family.
What to know: Attendees may bring their own picnics, alcohol is not permitted.
Huntington Woods
When:Fireworks begin at 10:05 p.m.
Where: Rackham Golf Course 10100 W 10 Mile Rd.
Parking: Parking is $15 per car
Admission: Free
What to expect: The Rackham golf course fireworks is hosting its annual celebration on July 4
What to know: Weapons, drugs and/or alcoholic beverages are prohibited, attendees are permitted to bring coolers for picnic and snacks will be offered for purchase on-site.
Clawson
When: The Clawson Fourth of July Festival Carnival takes place July 3-4; festival activities begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 3, ending at 10 p.m., respectively, each day; fireworks start time TBD
Where: Clawson City Park, 935 N. Custer Ave.
Parking: TBD
Admission: $3 entrance fee
What to expect: Come to the Clawson Carnival for food, rides, and games along with fireworks at the night of July 4.
What to know: Restrictions TBD
Dearborn
When: Greenfield Village Annual Salute to America takes place on July 2-5 at dusk: 5 p.m. through 10 p.m.
Where: Greenfield Village
Parking: Parking is $9 for nonmembers, free for members
Admission: July 2nd and 3rd: Members: $35.75, Public: $42.00; July 4th and 5th: Members: $30.50 Public: $36.00 Children 4 and under are free. Additional 25% off youth tickets available and senior discounts 10%
What to expect: Salute to America exists in partnership with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO). Enjoy food, the sound of the carousel, presenters in period clothing and musical ensembles. There are seven historic districts to explore. Once the sun sets the DSO will take stage and play Tchikovsky’s “1812” Overture during a fireworks finale.

Clinton Township Fireworks
When: Wednesday, July 9; fireworks start around 10 p.m., but pre-show activities start at 6 p.m
Where: Clinton Township Gazebo (Civic Center)40700 Romeo Plank Rd.Parking: Free parking at the gazebo.
Admission: Free
What to expect: Inflatables, food vendors, live music and more.
What to know: Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited.
