Renault seeks to cut 800 jobs in engineering in France

PARIS, June 24 (Reuters) – Renault is considering cutting 800 jobs in its engineering department in France by the end of 2027, the company’s human resources chief for the country said on Wednesday.

The company expects to reduce its payroll, which totals 5,500 staff, through voluntary redundancies, Maximilien Fleury told reporters.

The job cuts are in line with the company’s efforts to be better able to compete with Chinese competition, Chief Technology Officer Philippe Brunet added.
