Eduard Klassen was in Dresden on Sunday night as part of the Christian Concerts Series which continues until September 3rd. These Concerts are more than fifty years old and sponsored during the summer months by the Dresden Christian Ministerial Association.
This gentleman has performed in many countries of the world, and he brought his harp, to Dresden for the concert. Maybe you have heard about him…and I am sure you were blessed if you have actually seen him perform. He is a harpist and speaker. born in Paraguay, South America…and now living in Canada. He travels regularly around the world. He gives concerts for Christian Radio Stations and Networks, such as HCJB, Trans World Radio, and the Far Eastern Broadcasting Company. He has performed more than 250 concerts for these Broadcasters alone, not to mention the number of other concerts given over the years in more than 48 countries.
He had recently returned from a concert tour that included a trip to the Royal City of David…which has been restored to a large extent over the years. On a visit to the Museum, there was a large harp and he thought “How cool if I could play that!” Meantime, the tour guide informed the manager of who his guest was, and as he described the scene: “She took away the sign saying ‘Do Not Touch’ and said “play harp”. He did. “‘It was wonderful, playing in the ancient city where David played his harp so many years ago” Eduard enthused. “It was a dream come true,”
For those who may not know this, King David not only played the harp, but he wrote many of the Psalms and other music as well. The harp Eduard played was a model.
Eduard and his wife Christine have two sons. When they are not traveling they enjoy visiting their sons, camping and hiking, and enjoying long walks together.
Their goal is to Glorify God…and hope that everyone who hears their testimony will trust in Jesus!
