74’ Flagship and Tug Boat Join Nautical Celebration of Trump’s Birthday

Walled Lake, MI (For Immediate Release): A privately owned 80-foot tug boat has been added to the expected fleet for what will likely be the largest MAGA Boat Parade on the Great Lakes. This tug will accompany the 74-foot flagship boat that will kick off the MAGA event in Lake St. Clair and end when boats pass near downtown Detroit (Hart Plaza).

This nautical event will launch in Lake St. Clair from off the Nine Mile Tower mark at about 1:01 p.m. and is expected to pass directly off Hart Plaza (in downtown Detroit) at about 4:01 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.
“The response to our 2024 MAGA Boat Parade has been amazing, just as it was when we hosted a comparable event in 2020,” said Rosanne Ponkowski, spokesperson for the Michigan Conservative Coalition. “Michigan, as the Great Lakes State, knows how to show off its nautical enthusiasm. In that regard, nothing will do better than a massive MAGA boat parade. Plus, President Trump is the announced major speaker at an unrelated event in downtown Detroit on this exact June 15 date. Surely that is a part of the energy we feel for our 2024 MAGA Boat event. Make this day even more special with Trump’s major event appearance and the opportunity to celebrate President Trump’s birthday weekend in Detroit by joining the MAGA flotilla.”
Private boats, sea planes, tug boats, helicopters and drones will start in Lake St. Clair off the 9 Mile Tower. The flotilla will head south traveling approximately 0.4 miles off shore. The planned speed will be about 4.3 knots per hour (~5 MPH) with many water craft expected to join the MAGA Boat Parade as it passes the many marinas along the MAGA Parade route. Bikers for Trump will accompany the fleet using roadways paralleling the water route.
The MAGA Parade should pass the St. Clair Shore’s Nautical Mile area at about 1:30 p.m. From there, the course will proceed downriver around Belle Isle and boats expect to pass the Hart Plaza area at about 4:01 p.m. The MAGA Parade end point/turn around is expected to be in the area of Hart Plaza.
“We have all seen television coverage of the Florida Trump flotillas and elsewhere. Frankly, the Michigan MAGA Boat Parade in 2020 was much bigger and much more fun” said Ponkowski. “Our 2024 Michigan MAGA Boat Parade is expected to be even larger! We ask that all boating participants follow safe boating practices at all times. To look even better, we ask that each craft be decorated with American or Trump flags, and with any patriotic display. Use your audio system to broadcast patriotic music. Let’s celebrate Michigan MAGA and Trump’s birthday weekend on June 15.”
