They cruised through the first two games of the 2026 Little League Softball World Series, but now Lake Mary, Florida, faces elimination today in a must-win game against Snohomish, Washington.
The Lake Mary All-Stars opened their run for Florida’s first Little League softball championship in 30 years by outscoring its first two opponents 29-0. But they ran into a roadblock in the form of Clayton, North Carolina pitcher Anna-Lynn Clark, who racked up 13 strikeouts to keep Florida at bay until a five-run fifth inning proved enough to take down Florida 5-2.
Now Lake Mary needs to beat the girls from Washington to get another shot at North Carolina in the semifinals. They’ve already done it once, opening the tournament with a 14-0 blowout win on Sunday, Aug. 2. Brynn Fieser and Callie Ousley drove in three runs each, while Avery Little went 3 for 3 with three runs scored. Chloe Cheek, who pitched against North Carolina, held Washington to just two hits and a walk in a four-inning complete game.

But Snohomish has looked rejuvenated since that loss, beating Texas 7-3 before a 9-1 victory Wednesday, Aug. 5 over Canada. Ace Madison Locke was sensation in both games, going a combined 5 for 6 with a double, a home run, four runs and five RBIs at the plate. Against Canada, she gave up four hits and struck out 12.
The winner today gets North Carolina in the Purple bracket championship Saturday, Aug. 8. Whoever wins that game will play for the LLSWS championship.

Where is Lake Mary, Florida?
Lake Mary is a suburban city in Central Florida’s Seminole County, about 20 miles north of Orlando. In 2024, the team from Lake Mary became the first Florida team to win baseball’s Little League World Series.
