Cape Coral woman dies in College Parkway crash

An early morning crash killed a Cape Coral woman who struck a tree off College Parkway in Fort Myers.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 35-year-old woman was driving a 2017 Kia Rio west on College Parkway, approaching Premiere Boulevard about 5:15 a.m. Thursday, July 23, when she left the roadway. The car entered the median west of Premiere, hitting a tree.

Troopers said the woman died at the scene. The crash remained under investigation Thursday.

The death is among at least 29 on Lee County roads in 2026, according to Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
