A ranch-style retreat in a Traverse City community offers main-floor living with room to spare.
The home at 10758 Shrewbury Street in Traverse City is listed for $1.3 million by Mark Hagan. It was built in 2017 in the Morgan Farms subdivision and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a partial bathroom.
The sale includes most furnishings, handpicked over roughly eight months by owner Kathy Hicks, a builder and designer herself, and designer Colleen Gahry-Robb of Ethan Allen.
“Everything they used was quality of like a $5-million-dollar house. The blinds are wooden blinds that are like a 1/2-inch thick,” Hagan said.
The kitchen anchors the main floor that sees a family room with a fireplace and custom built-ins. A den near the front entry offers flexible office space and a sunroom adds a bright spot for morning coffee.
“This Traverse City home was designed with a subtle coastal influence, embracing the beauty of Northern Michigan through a timeless navy and white palette,” Gahry-Robb said. “The goal was to create a relaxed yet refined space that feels fresh, inviting and connected to its lakeside surroundings.
“Layered textures, classic details and a mix of comfortable furnishings bring together a sophisticated coastal aesthetic that feels effortless and welcoming,” she said.
The primary suite, also on the main floor, includes a walk-in closet and a private bath.
“The master is really adorable. Every inch of it is really cute,” Hicks said. “We worked side by side together every single day for probably a good eight months choosing fabrics and art.”
A mudroom and laundry area sit off the attached two-car garage.
The foyer, featuring a horse motif, opens across from a sitting area Hicks singled out as another favorite.
The finished lower level adds a second family room, a wet bar, two additional bedrooms and a full bathroom.
Morgan Farms residents have access to walking trails, along with landscape maintenance and snow removal, and the home sits minutes from downtown Traverse City, West Grand Traverse Bay beaches and the Elmwood Township Marina.
“The house looks as perfect as it did from the day I purchased it,” Hicks said.
