Roland-Story softball player Evelyn Carlson was voted the Ames Tribune’s female Athlete of the Week for the week of July 5-11.
Carlson won female Athlete of the Week with 45% of the vote.
She was phenomenal for No. 12 Roland-Story softball during its 2-0 quarterfinal win over Iowa Falls-Alden on July 9 and its 13-1 semifinal victory over Pella Christian on July 11 during regional competition.
Carlson belted a solo home run to help the Norse survive against IFA. She smacked two home runs and finished with three runs and six RBIs against Pella Christian.
