Stetson baseball head coach Steve Trimper resigned from his position on July 15, the school announced in a press release.
Trimper spent the past 10 seasons coaching the Hatters, compiling a 305-226 record, 21 MLB draftees, three Atlantic Sun Conference titles and just as many NCAA Tournament appearances. Two of Stetson’s conference titles and playoff appearances occurred in 2024 and 2025.
The Hatters tied a program-best 48 wins when they finished 48-11 in 2018 under Trimper, which was capped with an NCAA Super Regional appearance.
“After an incredible journey at Stetson University, I have decided to step down as head baseball coach,” Trimper said in the release. “I am deeply grateful to the university’s leadership, our student-athletes, coaches, staff, alumni, donors and the DeLand community for making my time at Stetson truly a 10-out-of-10 experience.”
Trimper’s resignation closes his third chapter as a Division I head coach that began in 1999 with a seven-year stint at Manhattan College. Trimper left the Jaspers to coach the Maine Black Bears from 2006-2016 prior to his stop in DeLand.
After his decade with Stetson, his career record as a head coach is 786-692-4.
According to the press release, the Hatters will begin a national search for their next coach immediately.
