Ripon arrest follows Internet Crimes Against Children case

RIPON – A 72-year-old Ripon man was arrested July 14 after police said a search warrant tied to an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation turned up a significant amount of child sexual abuse material.

The City of Ripon Police Department conducted the search about 9:20 a.m. at a private residence in the 600 block of State Street, according to the department.

The man, whom police did not identify, was taken into custody and booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on suspicion of multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

The investigation is ongoing. Police said more details will be released once a criminal complaint is issued.

Ripon police were assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
