Horseheads senior Boe Briggs and Corning junior Kohl Hogue contributed in different ways for their teams this past season, but the bottom line for each was winning games.
The two All-Americans, who both wore No. 23, have been selected as Elmira Star-Gazette/Corning Leader Co-Players of the Year in boys lacrosse for the 2026 season.
Hogue’s season included 65 goals and 42 assists while being selected a USA Lacrosse All-American. Hogue’s scoring and passing acumen both come in large part from the rare precision he displays in putting the ball right on the stick of a teammate or finding the corner of the net on a shot.
He led Corning to a 13-4 record. That followed a winter season in which Hogue was a starter for the first Corning Hawks boys basketball team to reach the state semifinals.
Briggs became the 10th scholastic All-American in Horseheads boys lacrosse history and helped the Blue Raiders secure the first state tournament triumph in program history.
Horseheads won its first Section 4 title in 10 years, capturing the Class B championship, and finished with a 12-7 record.
The SUNY Cortland commit’s ability to win faceoffs set the tone for Horseheads’ offensive success, with his success rate above 76%. He went 23-for-23 on faceoffs during the Raiders’ 13-3 victory over Binghamton in the sectional final. Briggs added 20 goals and 4 assists during the season.
