Weekend meteorologist Zoe Barajaz joins NBC 26

Zoe Barajaz is the new weekend meteorologist at WGBA-TV (NBC 26).

She started at the end of June and joins chief meteorologist Cameron Moreland and weekday morning meteorologist Jordan Brennan at the Green Bay station.

Born and raised in Darien, Illinois, Barajaz is a graduate of Valparaiso University in Indiana. According to her bio on the NBC26 website, her passion for weather grew out of a childhood fear of thunderstorms that she overcame by watching her local TV meteorologists provide storm coverage. Her interests include singing, reading and watching movies and TV shows.

Her arrival is one of a number of changes in the northeast Wisconsin television market in the last month.

Meteorologist Tessa O’Brien, a Kenosha native, made her on-air debut at WFRV-TV on June 25. Several weeks earlier, meteorologist Ryan Kudish left the station after three years to return home to Rhode Island.

WFRV also welcomed new anchor Danielle Davis to “Local 5 This Morning” on June 29, following Jade Henschel’s departure in May.

At WLUK-TV, Emily Beier has joined “Good Day Wisconsin” in the mornings as a field reporter and weekend anchor alongside meteorologist Phil DeCastro. She had previously been at WBAY-TV in Green Bay.

“Good Day Wisconsin” said farewell to field reporter Savannah Wood on July 7 after two years. Wood, who also spent some time at the anchor desk on the show, announced she was moving back to her home state of Pennsylvania to be closer to loved ones.
