All signs point to Caitlin Clark playing in the Indiana Fever’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday, July 8.
Clark spoke to the media before practice on Tuesday, July 7, and said she was optimistic about playing against the Sparks, according to IndyStar reporter Chloe Peterson.
The former Iowa women’s basketball star has missed the team’s last two games due to a recurring back injury. Fans last saw Clark play on June 24 against the Phoenix Mercury, when she exited with 5:15 left in the third quarter and did not return.
She also sat out Indiana’s win over Portland on May 20 with the same back issue.
In 17 games this season, the 24-year-old is averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4 rebounds and was named a starter for the 2026 WNBA All-Star team.
Indiana (12-8) won its last two games in Clark’s absence against the Sparks and the Las Vegas Aces, with fellow All-Star starter Kelsey Mitchell continuing her streak of scoring 25-plus points in both contests.
Wednesday’s game tips off at 9 p.m. and will air nationally on USA Network, with local broadcasts on WOI Local 5 and WQAD in Iowa.
