A new housing option is coming to Southeast El Paso.
Nationally, the need for alternative housing options has been on the rise for several reasons, including rising home payments and rents, a lag in the supply of new homes, and shifts in demographics and market trends.
The housing situation in El Paso remains free from crisis mode, but current trends show a tight supply of homes, moderate price growth and some affordability gaps.
Where is it?
The new quadruplex will be located at 8648 North Loop Drive in Southeast El Paso, according to the city’s permit and licensing page.
The site is in a largely residential area near Mission Valley Elementary School and Del Valle Middle School.
What was there before?
The new quadruplex is being constructed on a currently vacant lot which previously played host to a residential home.
The project calls for the construction of four two-story buildings, each one 3,934 square-feet, to house four two-bedroom units that will each be about 983.5 square-feet.
Who is the contractor?
The city’s website does not include the name of the contractor for the project, but the is Enrique Escobedo of El Paso. The owner is listed as GHC, LLC of El Paso.
The project is valued at $2 million.
