Carnival, fireworks, fishing contests, parades and live music

The Algonac Lions Club Pickerel Tournament, traditionally hosted year after year in early July, bows this weekend in the city that sits along the St. Clair River, located downriver in St. Clair County.
The club’s traditional hometown festival will mark it’s 88th year in Algonac just as America celebrates it’s 250th Birthday.
Four days of family fun will kick off at 5 p.m. this Thursday, July 2 when the midway opens and registration will begin for the Children’s Parade, which will take place at 5:30 p.m.
Other highlights on the schedule by day:
The Midway Carnival will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 and then noon on July 3, 4 and 5th during the Algonac Pickerel Tournament.
Thursday, July 2, 2026
· Fishing Contest begins @ 5 p.m.
· Line-up for Children’s Parade @ 5 p.m.
· Children’s Parade steps off @ 5:30 p.m.
· Voting for Pickerel Queen from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
· Crowning of Queen @ 8 p.m.
· 86 Noodles Band in the Beer Tent from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

· Midway Open 12:00 to 11:00 p.m.
· Watermelon Eating Conest @ 1 p.m.
The Fishing Tournament is one of the big draws at the annual festival and there are daily prizes awarded for participants.
· Beer Tent’s Open 6 p.m. to midnight
· Daily 50/50 drawing and Daily Fishing Prize @ 10 p.m.
· Fireworks Display @ 10 p.m.

Rosco the Clown will be on hand to make balloon animals for kids along the Pickerel Tournament Parade route on Sunday, July 5th at 2 p.m.
