Sgt. Chris John said the pedestrian died but he did not yet have additional information about the person’s age or gender. Investigators were expected to be at the scene for several hours, and the Simi police asked drivers to avoid the area while officers work.

Anyone with additional information about the crash is asked to call the station 805-583-6950 and ask for the traffic unit supervisor.

The same Target was the scene of an attack of a woman and at least four other shoppers June 17. Rejean Morgan Tabor, 34, has since been charged with felony attempted murder and four misdemeanors for assault, cruelty to a child and two counts of battery in Ventura County Superior Court.
