How much of the Indianapolis Colts’ 2026 salary cap space is devoted to the quarterback position?
For this season, the league-wide salary cap was set at $301.2 million. The Colts have $32.135 million invested at quarterback, according to Over the Cap.
This ranks as the 14th most and accounts for 10.6% of the team’s total salary cap space.

Earlier this offseason, the Colts signed Daniel Jones to a two-year, $88 million deal. However, the contract is backloaded quite heavily, leaving Jones with a modest cap hit of $19.18 million for 2026, which actually ranks below league average at 17th.
That said, Jones’ cap hit in 2027 will balloon to $46.8 million.
Anthony Richardson, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal, comes with a cap hit of $10.81 million, which is hefty for a backup — or third-string quarterback — and is the eighth-largest cap hit on the team.
If the Colts do find a trade partner for Richardson, that would create $5.38 million in cap savings, per OTC.
Riley Leonard, a former sixth-round pick on his rookie deal, has a relatively small cap hit of $1.063 million. Easton Stick’s cap hit is just $1.075 million as he plays on a vet minimum deal.
