CLEVELAND — In an effort to get him jumpstarted, the Guardians are moving Steven Kwan back to the leadoff spot ahead of their June 27 game against the Seattle Mariners.
A recent series of injuries has left the Guardians searching for offense as they try to keep pace with the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central division. That has led to manager Stephen Vogt re-inserting Kwan into the top spot in the order.

After his second single of the day, rookie Travis Bazzana scored all the way from first on a double down the left-field line from Brayan Rocchio, and the Guardians are on top 4-0. It was a strong hustle play from the former No. 1 overall pick.

The Guardians will take a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning after Slade Cecconi worked out of a jam.
Cecconi has allowed two hits and a walk and struck out three. He’s also retired Josh Naylor twice (strikeout, groundout). The two were traded for each other.
Cooper Ingle collects first MLB hit, RBI; Guardians lead Mariners
The Guardians have broken the scoreless deadlock, and Cooper Ingle just collected a few MLB firsts with one swing.
First, with two runners on, Khalil Watson put the Guardians on top 1-0 with an RBI double down the right-field line.
That led to Ingle, who singled to right field to score both runners and make it 3-0. Ingle fist-pumped halfway down the first base line.
Slade Cecconi, Logan Gilbert cruising early in Guardians-Mariners matchup
Guardians starter Slade Cecconi and Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert have both looked sharp early.
Cecconi has allowed one hit and struck out one. Gilbert has struck out two and has sat the Guardians down in order through the first two innings.
