The kayak was about 150 yards off the lakeshore and a water rescue team recovered the man, who was wearing a life jacket. The man was pronounced dead around 4:53 p.m., according to the news release.

Authorities continue to investigate the drowning. Details about the man’s identity were not immediately released.

Lake Ivanhoe is in Walworth County, about 45 miles southwest of Milwaukee.

The June 25 death follows the drowning of an 18-year-old man from Pewaukee, who had fallen overboard from a boat in Lake Okauchee.
