San Angelo woman charged with murder after remains found at landfill

A woman has been charged with murder after San Angelo police recovered the victim’s body parts from a local landfill, a San Angelo Police Department media release said.

The murder victim is Roland Matthew Sheppard, 34, who was shot in the facial area and stabbed many times, causing his death on Tuesday, the SAPD said in the media release.

Audrey Reannan Troncoso, 31, of San Angelo was charged with murder and was being held Thursday in the Tom Green County Jail on a $2 million bond, online jail records show.

On Wednesday, the SAPD received information about a possible homicide in the 1400 block of Parker Street, police said. The SADPD Criminal Investigations Division immediately began investigating and identified a suspect, Troncoso.

Investigating detectives learned that after the murder, she tried to conceal and dispose of the Sheppard’s remains, police alleged in the media release.

Parts of the murder victim’s remains were found at Republic Services landfill at 3002 Old Ballinger Highway, police said. And detectives determined the body parts came from a dumpster in the 600 block of Baker Street.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

San Angelo police Chief Travis Griffith held a press conference Thursday morning about the case. Griffith also held a press conference late Wednesday afternoon to provide a small amount of information and reassure the public there was no threat to residents.
