Former Michigan State pitcher commits to Valpo

The transfer portal is in full swing amidst the college baseball world, and one former Spartan has found his next home. Jaxon Huffman has made his commitment to Valparaiso University.

Huffman, a native of Muskegon (MI) and a former standout at Mona Shores High School, is a 6-foot-1 right-handed pitcher. As a freshman in 2024, he got three innings of work in five appearances, where he struck out three, but gave up nine earned runs.

After his initial time with Michigan State, he went back home to the nearby Muskegon Community College, where he made 10 appearances in 2026. He will now look to succeed at the division one level once again when he joins the Crusaders.
