IndyCar's Road America gets most non-Indy 500 viewership on Fox

The Grand Prix at Road America, IndyCar’s 10th race of the season, was watched by 1.803 million viewers on Fox. That viewership is the largest for any race besides the Indianapolis 500 this year.

A World Cup match between Spain and Saudi Arabia — which Spain won 4-0 — led into Fox’s IndyCar broadcast, helping the race’s audience significantly. The viewership peaked from 2:29 to 2:30, when 2.943 million viewers watched the start of the race.

This year’s Grand Prix at Road America had a 31% viewership increase from last year’s race, when 781,000 viewers tuned in. Arrow McLaren’s Christian Lundgaard won on Sunday despite falling to last on the race’s opening lap.

In IndyCar’s second year on Fox, which now owns a one-third stake in the series, races are averaging 2.033 million viewers, which is up 14% from 2025 through 10 races (1.783 million). The season has eight races left, with two new street races in Washington, D.C., and Markham, Ontario, expected to garner significant interest.
