5 top 2027 recruits Ohio State football has made offers to

Ohio State football’s first game of the 2026 season is 75 days away, but how does the Buckeyes 2027 recruiting class shape up?

The Buckeyes have received commitments from two five-star prospects: edge rusher DJ Jacobs and wide receiver Jamier Brown. Jacobs highlights the class and ranks as the No. 1 overall player; he had a highly productive season at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Georgia with 102 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and two forced fumbles in 11 games, according to Maxpreps.

Brown recently transferred to Big Walnut in Sunbury, Ohio, and won the OHSAA Division II state title in the 100-meter dash. Brown is the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2027 class.

With many prospects yet to commit, here’s a look at five of the top uncommitted players in the 2027 class that Ohio State has extended offers to, according to 247Sports.

David Gabriel Georges, running back, Chattanooga, Tennessee

The No. 2 running back in the 2027 class (according to 247Sports’ composite rankings), five-star David Gabriel Georges got some media attention when the entire Buckeyes offensive coaching staff paid a visit to the Baylor School in May to see Gabriel Georges. Per 247Sports, he is the No. 10 overall recruit in the 2027 class and is listed at 6 feet tall and 205 pounds.

Gabriel Georges rushed for 1,756 yards and had 27 touchdowns in 2025, helping Baylor finish undefeated in his junior year.

Gabriel Georges has an unofficial visit to Ohio State set for August. The blue-chip prospect would greatly improve Ohio State’s running back depth; the Buckeyes’ highest-rated running back in the 2026 class is four-star Legend Bey, who played quarterback in college.

Moshun Sales, wide receiver, Indianapolis

Sales is the No. 8 prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. Along with Ohio State, the five-star Indianapolis prospect has offers from Indiana, LSU, Alabama, Texas and others.

Listed at 6-5 and 195 pounds, Sales had 37 catches for 794 yards and nine touchdowns in his junior season, along with 56 tackles on defense. He also runs track at Lawrence North High School and was a state qualifier in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, along with the long jump.

247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins called Sales “One of the biggest freak shows in the country with his hulking frame and elite athletic markers.”

Marcus Fakatou, defensive lineman, Chatsworth, California

A five-star prospect and the No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2027 class, Marcus Fakatou has narrowed his choices to Georgia, Texas and Ohio State, according to Rivals.

At Bronny James’ alma mater, Sierra Canyon High School, Fakatou finished with 54 solo tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles in the 2025-26 season.

Listed at 6-6 and 275 pounds, Fakatou reclassified from the 2027 class in November 2025, according to 247Sports. He visited Ohio State on May 29.

Karlos May, defensive lineman, Birmingham, Alabama

May is a four-star prospect and the No. 14 defensive lineman in the country, according to 247Sports. May had one of the most recent visits to Columbus, stopping by campus on June 19.

May is a multisport athlete at Ramsay High School. He competes in the shot put and discus events in track and field, and had a 43-tackle campaign in his 10-game football season in 2025. May also has interest in Georgia, Auburn and Florida State, telling 247Sports on June 8 before his Ohio State visit that his top interest is Georgia.

Blake Wong, wide receiver, Norco, California

A four-star wide receiver ranked No. 50 in the class, Wong visited Ohio State this past weekend. He racked up 1,470 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in 2025, including a 280-yard five-touchdown performance in the middle of his season, according to Maxpreps.

Wong has four other schools in his top choices: Utah, BYU, UCLA and Oregon, according to Rivals.
